i have a stock suspension on my 86 f150 2wd. i was wondering if for winter, 33's would fit on the back on my truck. i rolled one up next to it and it looks like it will fit on the back. i will find out for sure tomorrow. or if any of you know for sure before i waste my time taking them off one truck just to find out they dont fit on mine. thanks
They will rub if you put a load in the bed. I had 31x10.5's on a 4x4 stock height, and they barely missed the fender lip with a load, and they actually rubbed the top of the wheel well(the part you see inside the bed) when I hit a bump with a load. I don't see how 33's are going to not rub, unless you run around unloaded and are careful over bumps.
i will have to find out tomorrow and let you guys and gals know. also would there be a way to keep the back end from dropping with a load, like putting a block or something in somewhere?
the 33's fit with plenty of clearance. i was even jumping on the back of the truck and the fenders still were not rubbing on the tires. and as a bonus the truck looks really nice with them taller tires filling the wheel well gap.
my other question now is will my speedometer be off since im running taller tires? the speedo cable is right into the transmission.
Of course the speedo will be off, but probably only 2 to 3 mph. I glad it's going to work out for you, but 180lbs(I don't know how much you weigh) jumping up and down in the bed is not going to tell you much. By load, I mean a full box full of green firewood or something like that. More like 1000 lbs. As long as you don't carry something heavy, you should be fine.
ya 180 is just about right. your a good guesser lol. now how tall am i? lol
im just using these for winter and after winter is over im switching back to my street tires. and i dont haul anything hardly at all in the truck, specially in the winter besides snow and 8 cinder blocks.
