Interesting TSB... Be careful where you put that DEF fluid.... There also looks to be a condition where they are replacing all eight injectors....

This article supersedes TSB 11-6-10 to update the vehiclemodel years, Issue Statement, Service Procedure, Service Labor Time Standards and Part List. ISSUE:

Some 2011-2012 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P1291 and/or P1292 due to an internally shorted fuel injector. An internal short in a fuel injector may be caused by the fuel being contaminated with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), or by fuel gelling.
ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Good to know and now all the more reason to keep spare filters on hand.

There must have been quite a few people putting DEF in the fuel tank to put out TSB.

I don't know about that. I don't think it would take many $10K repair bills due to customer negligence for Ford to wise up to the problem.

Stuff like this is great for people to know though. Knowledge of the damage DEF can cause just saved 6.7Fan a LOT of money!
