My speedometer isn't working?
So my speedometer doesn't work. So i followed this cable that went to my dash and goes back to my transmission. I took a bolt out and attached to the end of the cable was a red plastic gear looking like thing with threads on it ,and it was all chewed up looking. I was wondering if anyone knew what that was called or were to get a new one.
and sorry i forgot to say its a 84 ford f250 4speed 4x4

That is called a speedometer gear and they can be found pretty much anywhere. You should be able to find what you need on eBay:
ford speedometer gear | eBay
Edit: Mine was chewed up as well. You may want to consider getting a new speedometer cable as well. They're rather inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe the red gear is a 16 toothed gear.
