Smile 97 F150 Project Question

Well this is my first post on this forum. I have a 97 f150 4x4 extended cab. When i get back from the my deployment i have some parts in need of puting on this thing. I have a fabtech 6" lift to install and some American Racing rims with 35" tires. My main problem is i have the 12mm studs and the wheels came off of a newer truck with the 14mm. Naturally since they arent stock they dont match the hubs so they wont self center. My question is can you get acorn "tapered" style nuts that will have a big enough taper to make up the size difference or should i try and find a way to change out the studs. I do worry about those big *** tires and wheels on those dinky studs. Has anyone ever changed those out for bigger studs?

thanks in advance for any help

You will be ok with the 12mm studs and you should be able to
Find the lug nuts you need. Here's a picture of a 98' F150 I did up
A few years ago and then sold it. I made a mistake by selling it....it has the
6" fabtech 35" SSR's with eagle 589 rims. Oh and 12mm studs.
Never had a issue of course it was a pavment pounder.

Oh yeah i guess i forgot to mention that the truck i raped to get all these parts was rolled over and had a full set of 4.56 gears,, pulled the front as a whole unit and whoever built it the first time sucked *** cause the pinion flange was loose. Obviously couldnt tighten the crush sleeve well enough. The rear was pretty much like that too. But neither were so loose that i would be afraid of using them. So i rebuilt the front diff and the rear im going to swap out the gears with new bearings and clutch packs. I also forgot to mention that when im not getting shipped to the other side of the planet for Uncle Sam, i am a Ford certified Driveline Tech at a Ford dealer.

No problem, we the few go so the many don't have to.

Thanks! about the grearing....I never regeared mine, I left it all stock. I drove it two years with no problems. It had the 5.4 and I never offroad it. Even with the 35s it took off pretty good. But that's up to you.

I have a supercrew FX4 now and I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me lift it. Not going over so well. I miss having a lifted truck.

That's funny this truck actually is my wifes truck. And she is the one that found the lifted rollover that we took all the parts off of

That's awsome. My wife likes lifted trucks too....she just doesn't like the fact I need $4k to lift it. Where in the world did you find a lifted rollover? That's the ticket. You never see used lifts for these trucks.

Well my wife manages a salvage yard, and this guy had this truck with the 6" Fabtech plus a body lift, and i think he was trying out his brand new Hankooks when he did something dumb and rolled it over. She got the whole truck for $400
