I know everyone and their mother is looking for these but I can't seem to find one.

Need a Short bed for my truck Mine has rusted out around the bolts and is now loose. I've searched Craigslist and eBay to the end of the internet and can't find a thing.

If anyone knows a secret place to get one I'd appreciate the point in the right direction. I'm really looking for a pre 2011 box so the body lines, line up better but at this point I won't be picky...

Where are you located and what were you looking to spend, does in need to be in color or would you want to paint it?

 

I'm in NY(southern), Color at this point I don't care. I've seen some 2011's that were $3400+ and won't even consider that. Especially since the lower body lines won't match up PERFECTLY.

I'm even willing to drive and pick this thing up. Road trips don't scare me!

Price I'm negotiable on. It all depends.

Most around my area seems to be in the $600-$800 range, lots of upfitters too putting flatbeds on here, price is probably better since I'm not in the rust belt.

try to find a '08-'10, regular cab, V10, 6-speed, manual 4x4, DRW. that isn't white...

Craigslist Texas man. Outfitters have them a dime a dozen. Some of the companies down in Austin have them stacked in rows you can see while driving down I-35

I know it's a bit of a drive, but lots of cool sites to see along the way

Great find! I've been waiting for a new website that does national searches on Craigslist.

 

jordan try dejana 631-544-1209 they are located in kings park long island new york 11754. they are a very truck body outfitting company. last time i was there they had them stacked up in the yard. they customizes alot of new cab and chassis for the railroad, keyspan, water authority, but they also do work on trucks that come in with beds on them. if they have one i'd go there and snap a photo for you and post it here or e-mail it to you. i live in kings park.

 

Not doubting you, but most every outfitter around here has plenty of long beds but almost no short beds. If you're putting a utility or flatbed on your truck, it's more than likely a long bed.

If you are in NY, take a look at the Baltimore craigslist. I saw a shortbed Superduty bed on there and it looked to be in GREAT shape - and it was ONLY $1000!!! NO JOKE!!! It was a town north of Baltimore but I can't remember the name of the town now.

I spent the last two weeks looking for an 8-foot bed so I know how rare the shortbeds are when you do see them, they are more expensive than the 8-footers.

Go to SearchTempest dot com. Craigslist's only sucks in that you can only search in local communities. That site will let you search all C/L adds w/in a specific mileage range. Now...there are a few tricks to help you as well...

Look in auto parts to remove the chances that trucks will be in the listings. Put a MAX price in - say $2500 or whatever is close enough to your price that you can negotiate to where you want to be.

You will need to click on "show images" in one of the return windows and then click "search" again so photos show up in all windows. I would recommend NOT searching Craigslist as well.

Now...this is the BEST tip I will give you... Ebay, you separate search terms with a comma (,). Craigslist requires you to use a pipe (|) It is found above the enter key, usually.

As an example when I was searching for a tailgate, I put...

tailgate (f250|f350|superduty) (2008|2009|2010)

This searches for tailgate + f250 OR f350 OR superduty + 2008 OR 2009 OR 2010

This covers all the years that have that style and all the years. I hope that wasn't TOO confusing!!!
