IAC / throttle body cleaner

Can someone reccomend a cleaner that I should use on my 89 F150 6cyl? Also does it have that protective film on the throttle body? I've been having high idle problems thought cleaning these two items first might help.

Thanks

Berryman B12 Chemtool. A little pricey, but it works really well. Get some long swabs or cotton ***** on a stick of some sort, helps with the cleaning process.

Valvoline Throttle Body cleaner....its not petroleum solvent based, so it doesn't harm the protective coating on the TB plates.

Yep, gets all the carbon out very nicely Just make sure you get it all rinsed out or you might get a little piece of carbon stuck in the plunger.

When you say washed out ,,,do you mean wash the cleaner out with water?

Okay, cleaned IAC and it dont seem to have corrected the issue. I also checked the IAC, with it off the truck and the key turned on the pin inside will open then close when the key is turned on. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what my idle problem could be? At first startup it idles at around 1100 to 1200 rpms and when I change gears the rpms might rev to 1800 to 2000. At a redlight it go back to to around 1200. It will do this until warm up and shut off and restart. After restart it will idle correctly all day unless you let it set to long (cool down). If you let it set to long just restart and idle will be fine. It's not really a big deal as long as you warm up and restart but its irrating.

Please help.

Could a TPS cause this ? Only reason I tossed in the question is I know the TPS resets at start up. IDK what the other sensors do at start up.

I'm thinking it's the tsp. This morning I let out on the clutch to quickly and killed the engine. Did not turn key all the way off restarted and still idled high. Turned key all they off restarted and idled normal.
