86 f150 , fuel pump and injectors don't function
Greetings all! I am working on a 1986 f150 fuel injection V8 . The owner left the key stuck in the start position and the truck ran for a period of time MAKING A LOT OF NOISE until shutting off by itself. I discovered the starter quite burnt up and the starting solenoid burnt out. After replacing starter and solenoid truck cranked and had spark but didn't run, no fuel pressure. I grounded pin #6 in test plug and made the pump run and motor still didn't run. When starting fluid is sprayed into throttle body it runs , therefore I believe the injectors aren't firing. All fuses and fusible links I can see are good, how would you guys ( and gals!) proceeded?....I bleed FORD BLUE and have a friend cussing this truck ( his) please help! THANKS IN ADVANCE

Yes. If it really doesn't have the signals from the distributor, it could be several other things like wiring and the pickup inside the dist. And it could be the module also.
If you want to do some checking, you can pull the codes, if it's missing the pulses there will more than likely be a code the computer will spit out. Here's how to pull the codes with just a testlight.

If it's not seeing the pulses, it could simply be the wire is shorted. The pulse wire is a shielded wire and sometimes the shield shorts to the signal wire.
