I just bought my 2005 F250 last week, I did sign a as-is form, so not sure I can do much on that. But just found out the e-brake does not work. How do I adjust it, maybe it just need to be tightened up?

Also should the brake make a ratcheting noise or is it silent when it is pressed down? I have never had a vehicle that is silent when pressing it down, but this F250 makes no ratcheting noise.

 

You can adjust the star wheel from behind the wheel. Remove the oval rubber plug to expose the star wheel.

No ratchet sound when you press down on the e-brake.
