Worlds Ultimate F550's, need your input please

We have 3 new F550's coming Dec 15th. 2 stripped 2 door cab and chassis with one 4 door Lariat loaded with every option imaginable. The Goal is to make the worlds ultimate pickup or Americas Unimog. We have decided on a few things, planetary axles, CTIS, super single 365 80 R 20 Michelin XZL tires and military wheels. Air bag suspension for the Lariat, and the name "F554" and "F556".

What we have not decided on is Engine management, Best out there? Intake kit? Best? Exhaust kit? Best?

Bed for the 4 door 6x6, we would like aluminum, or composite, Options? We want a 3 way tipper like the Unimog U300.

Cab steps, something more tough than the plastic motorized versions?

Fender flares? other than GXV and Bushwacker, is there anyone making a complete hood/fender kit for the F250+?

Lighting, we would ike the headlights to be something other than the China stuff on ebay, even our custom logo would be great, in blue, anyone know of a company that DOES custom headlights?

Front bumper, we know all the major manufacturers, is there a custom guy out there willing to do something different?

Interior Must haves? Ultimate truck here, all Ford options have been check marked, Aftermarket, gotta have...???

Towing ? Experience with something necessary beyond the Ford package?

Basically this is the best America has to offer. If you know please help and we will be using your information for the build up.

What engines are in the trucks? If the truck is being made to be a good offroad truck it the steps should be custom fabbed and made of heavy duty steel to double as a rock slider to protect the rockers. Gotta have a big *** winch too.

The trucks all come with the 6.7 litre diesel. Is there a shop that does custom HD motorized steps?

This is the only company I know of that does motorized steps. AMP Research PowerStep™, BedStep®, Bed X-Tender™, BedStep 2™ - ElectricStep - AMP Research In-Stock Shipping Center I don't know if they do custom work.

Sparten is at the top on performance tuning for the Powerstroke diesels. Spartan Diesel Technologies

For an exhaust your probably going to end up dealing with a local custom shop, fabbing up your own exhaust from mandrel bends and straight pipe or looking around at the after kits available. Most of the exhausts out there are tailored to the F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the styleside bed. Not the chassis cab models.

I prefer the look and function of the Ford styleside beds. An F-350 or F-450 dual wheel bed should fit nicely on your 550s depending on the WB..

Thanks for the step lists.

Spartan Diesel, do they offer a kit to install? We do not want to transport the trucks more than necessary.

The bed cannot be a factory bed as the wheelbase is 84" cab to axle. Plus we are doing a 6x6.

Sparten sells the engine tuning electronics which are shippable and can be installed at your shop. I don't know how much exhaust, intakes and other performance parts they offer. A tune and a decent exhaust on those 6.7ls should make plenty of power for you. I wouldn't even mess with a new intake unless Sparten recommends it.

Oh I thought you were only doing one 6X6 truck. Maybe a bed like on a deuce would be best.

I'm in the middle of building a front and rear fourlink with airbags myself. The wheels your looking for are what I have.

What size tires are those? Are those dual wheels just flipped outwards? or are they super single rims too? Do they ride rough? Good looking truck JBarefoot.

My stainless steel steps are the toughest I've seen, they are braced to the frame, and have 2 tubes running all the way across. They would probably hold 2000# and are self cleaning. BTW, If you want any Stainless steel diamond plate like shown here, Real Wheels in Gurnee IL. will custom make any pieces you need.

Sure, as long as it's not in the form of an ad for your company.
