If that truck was driven much in the fine atlanta traffic, pull the egr valve out and look at it. Make sure it is not partially open and that the o-rings on it are good. The valve (kind of looks like an intake valve) in it should be closed all the way at the bottom. If it is slightly open, it will run bad. Clean it up really good if it needs it and try that. I had an 05 that spent a lot of time in ATL and it hated it. The egr valve would periodically need attention
I will be pulling the EGR, and Changing the oil and filters. I will install the scanguage tomorrow and look into some other things asap. All of this info is very much appreciated and I believe I have a core group of gents to refer to when/if I have any issues or questions. Again, Thank You All.

my truck starts a lot smoother when cold if I cycle the key 3 times (turn the key on, wait for glow plug light goes off, turn key off then back on, repeat ect).
I wish I had the cubby! I have the 4 Aux switches and have NO clue how to or what they are used for... sad right!?
High Idle Mod, Driving Lights, Inverter, or whatever else you want to wire to the circuits. I've wired AUX 4 for high idle, I set the parking brake and flip the switch, and my engine goes to 1200 RPM. Search "upfitter switches" for other threads that can give you ideas.

They're there so that you can install aftermarket accessories (Aux driving/flood lights, air compressor, fuel pump in toolbox, etc). Each switch is already fused (#1 & #2 are 20amp and #3 & #4 are 10amp) and there are four wires below the dash for them. If you look in the tech folder you should be able to find a link to which switch is which wire and their fuse rating. Allot of guys that run the "high idle mod" will hook one of the lower amp switches to that function. The Upfitters were designed to give the dash a clean look. If your truck isn't a '05-'07 and you want to get real fancy, check this out:
I've got a 6 switch lower dash sitting at the house waiting to go into my truck. I just don't have all the items together that I'm going to wire up to it when I get it installed (want to do it all at once & be done with it).

Part of me wants to go ahead and put it in, hook-up what I've got just because is a "new toy" for the truck. But the other part of me knows...I won't be happy until it's done. I ordered mine with the switches engraved & wiring harness...so he sent a simple diagram of which wire is for what (power, ground, background light, etc). Also, when you order it if you specify your interior trim color...Clay will paint it for you. The color match is spot on for my '04. I can't say this enough by Clay, his customer service is 2nd to none. Though he seems to be a 7.3L guy
I have an 05' F-250 and it is just starting to cool off here in Texas (40-60 degrees) and my truck is running horribly when first cranked I read all the posts in this thread but not sure where I should start looking, I am a college student with a tight budget so where should I start looking?

I agree, but I'd also add to this...describe "running horribly when first cranked". Is it missing, smoking or just rough idle. You can also check the FICM with a multimeter & a helper (to crank the truck) if you don't have a SGII.

Benny, the '05 and up had the 4-pin FICM right?
It pretty much does all 3 till it warms up then it runs fine, and no I dont have an SGII but probably will next time I spend money on my truck, luckily it has a plug so I might just invest in an extention cord and plug it in till I have time to mess with it more.....Thanks

The block heater will get you by until you can hook a SGII or put a multimeter on the pins. What weight oil are you using? Several guys have reported easy cold starts with 5W40 in the cold months.
Have you joined the FTE chapter that near were you live/go to school? There could be someone nearby that has a SGII or able to help you out.
