Anyone have any feedback on this tire? Its made in a radial and i bias ply, radial costing more i want to use a 39.5 x 13.5- 16 on my 77 F250 with a 6" suspension lift
Has anyone had a fit problem with this setup?
Tony
If you guys that run 39.5 tires on your trucks could give me some feedback before i order me it would be great also so photos. for now i have a stock 400 runs strong,C6 and 4.10 gears.
Thanks
i had 39.5 x 15.5 x15 bias tires and hated it. i have 35x 12.5 BFG A\T inch radials and
love them.the bias ply tires seem to bounce at times like a basketball. they also get
flat spots if they sit for too long. the BFG i have now are great except they rub the
radius arms if i turn too sharp. But the 39.5 were rubbing everything real bad. plus it
seems the steering was ral hard unless i was moving. if i was stopped and had to turn
the wheel the powersteering could not do it.

To be honest no one can really tell you if they will or wont rub. Realistically you will have to climb under it and measure, or test fit. With a 6" lift im sure you can mount them, but i think you will rub with the suspension compressed and at the right angles. The amount of offset you have can really help. If necessary there is always more lift or cut-out fender flares. If you plan on driving the truck on pavement mostly i would steer clear of the bias. Great tire.. definately not made for the road. You will get flat spots, theyre nearly impossible to balance and i would bet you dont get more than 8 or 10k miles out of em. They also ride like solid tires. The radials will ride better, handle better, and last longer.
Next thing to consider, to run a tire that big you need to look at dual steering stabilizers and possibly hydro assist steering (different than power steering, similar to the steering on hi-boys) I notice yours is a 77, is it a hi-boy or a 77.5? From what i have heard the hi-boy steering is great for big tires and can be upgraded fairly easy.
