I just found some 2001 F350 SD axles for $300 with manual locking hubs. Are these Dana 50 axles the same from the ball joints out as the TTB Dana 50's? Or are the F350s dana 60's? Just wondering because I just did brand new ball joints and brakes on the TTB 50
The rears on the SD have disks too right? So I'll be getting disks? I am also pulling my E40D out and putting in a ZF5. I have heard that the ZF5 is a few inches shorter then the E40D so I have to change the driveshaft BUT pinion sticks out further by a few inches on the SD rear as well. Will I be able to reuse my rear driveshaft?
SD axles use a different lug spacing than OBS axles do, so you'll have to get new wheels if you go this route. Yes the SD rears have disks, but unless you're getting both axles you will have a mixed set of wheels on the truck. If you're getting both axles for $300, then good for you! I can't attest to the fitment or the length of the drive shafts.
And the Front axles in the 4x4 F350's are Dana 60 monobeams.
Man, that's a long ways away. Cost more to ship them than to buy them. That's a hell of a deal, probably 3.73 gears too. I'd buy new wheels and have them under my truck for sure. DAMMIT!!!
