I got my last set from oreillys took 4 points sets to get a good pair for my 46 but finally got two made in the USA. They evidently had some old ones in the warehouse but kept mixing the newer Chinese and the old stock.
My issue with the Chinese ones were the point spring was weak and the points would bounce at higher RPM's I have a distributor machine and was easy to see what was happening but would be a lot more difficult with the distributor installed to figure out what was going on.

Every set I've gotten in the last 4-5 years are Chinese crap. I have to mount them and then try to push the arm to try to make the contacts connect. I've been lucky, I've got them working but they probably won't last long and fall out of adjustement. I wish the manufacturers would get it into their heads there's a large group of people out here who are willing to pay a twice as much for a good set of points than the cheap Chinese crap. But I suppose as soon as we all started buying the higher priced American parts they'd start replacing them with the cheap one again and keep the same price.

Welcome to the Walmart economy.

The NAPA on line site has a parts number cross reference feature. If one counter guy at NAPA can't find the correct part talk to another one. These are easy to find. Flatheads are still very common and they should be able to look up the number.

Standard brand makes BlueStreak...they are the line that was used in NASCAR racing (that I use today as well)

Buy the best and cry only once...NOS genuine Ford parts.

FAA-12171-A (replaced 7RA-12171) .. Point Set-Heavy Duty / 1948/52 337 / 1948/53 239 / 1948/64 I-6's.

DICKERSON MOTOR CO. in York SC has 15 = 803-684-4225.

There are more, but only available from obsolete parts vendors. So...they could be made in China crap.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY in Arlington TX has 200 = 817-275-2381. Verify that they are genuine Ford parts before buying any.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 1969, Ford replaced FAA-12171-A with C9AZ-12171-B (Motorcraft DP-3) which has many more applications too numerous to list.

C9AZ-12171-B is still available from Ford, but there are only 67 remaining at one Ford parts depot (Memphis TN).

70 are available from FoMoCo dealers scattered across the US. Obsolete parts vendors have over 300, but could be Chinese crap.

Ok, I found the numbers I have been looking for. Bluestreak is the answer, copper with a felt wiper. big $$ but you get what you pay for.
napa CS753 $16
Bluestreak FD-8081X
Bill, hard to believe that place in NY has quality NOS parts sitting around. They may have that number on their bin but I bet its full of chinese junk.
