Hello everyone, I have a 2001 f-350 4WD with a bad front axle u joint. It has ruined the needle bearing for the axle in the hub. Can the needle bearing be replaced? I put new bearing hubs on about 1 year ago, not looking forward to the expense of new hubs again. Thanks in advance for your responses.
You shouldn't have to spend more than $10-$15 for the bearing either. It should be available from local auto parts stores, as well as online, such as from Parts Guy Ed, one of the FTE supporters.
Also, welcome to FTE. I suggest sticking around and seeing what you can learn. There is a wealth of information on this site thanks to the combined knowledge of some very experienced and knowledgeable individuals.
Thank You Northwind one, excellent repair writeup link, much appreciated!
I have been a long time user of the site, most information needed has been in the existing threads. I did not find the answer for this one there so now I am a 1st. time poster. Thanks again for a great response.
