My '87 F350 has a VSS...
no, your 87 has a cable driven speedometer.

that electric sensor is for the cruise control, not the speedometer.

dont believe there is one. easiest way to tell a true dana 80 is the 10 bolt wheel pattern, not an 8

go to your local pick n pull yard theyre not hard to find. we use em out here in CA for rock crawler axles now that the 14 bolts are getting harder to come by. you can typically pick em up for 50-100 bucks. there is just an abundance of them out here at least. i wouldnt pay more than about 200 bucks for one since theyre so common but thats just me

that is correct, but he was asking if it came in an f350 like the guy selling it said. any ford dana 80 will be a 10 bolt wheel pattern, dodge 80's still use an 8 lug

I thought the F-Superduty trucks still had a 8-lug pattern.

very interesting. because the 91 dash cluster used a speedometer cable. the digital dash cluster did not come out till the 92 model year.

up till 92, there was both a cable and a digital pickup in the tailshaft.
the digital pickup was normally used for the cruise control.

92 was when everything went digital, and the cable speedo was dropped.

that was the main reason the 92 was the first truck to get sold. almost none of the in stock parts fit it

the 88 to 91 trucks all had interchangeable parts.
if something broke, it was the same part no matter what year the truck was.
