1985 F150 Short?
Has ran great up until 3 days ago, I decided to leave my truck in my driveway where I would normally park it in the garage, we had a huge rain that night. When I went to start it the next morning...nothing, not a clicking, no dash lights...nothing.
I opened the hook thinking maybe a loose terminal to find that water had somehow leaked into the compartment and I found water on top of the battery, on the cylonoid, and on the firewall.
After checking all my connections and using a towel to soak up most of the water, I found that I was still getting nothing when I turned the key.
I then took my battery out, and set a new battery in, hooked up the ground, then as I set the positive onto the post, the black/orange wire going from the cylonoid to the alternator began to smoke. I removed the cable from the battery very quickly.
can anyone show me a wiring diagram for the battery to cylonoid to the alternator? as I am assuming that the incoming water caused a short where a short was bound to happen at some point. But I have no idea how the wiring is set up as its all inside a harness! Any idea's? Thanks, my email is copperisbetter@gmail. or " kyre searcher" on facebook! Thanks
