Double dummy problem number two.

For all who read my last thread you can see what a wonderful weekend I had. Now for my next trick.................My brother in law tried to jump the Sea-doo battery while the ski was in the water from one of the batteries on my truck. Needless to say I was off someone else at the time. Well the Sea doo started right up and then took off, taking the jumper cables with it. Well he was able to get the cables loose and jump on the ski but the cables fell in the water. Questions is, how do I treat the two black eyes I gave my brother in law for touching my truck? ha, just kidding. Everything seems to run fine but I want to chck the fusible link. Is there one for each battery or just one for all?Should I be worried about any of my electronics? Thanks for the help. I promise this is the last dumb thing that happened to me( well at least that you guys can help with)

Double dummy problem number two.

you shouldn't need to bother with anything as long as it was connected to the battery only...fresh water no problem salt water different story.....either way the truck should be fine

If this is a frequent problem, consider buying one of those portable "jumper batteries" which is a self-contained battery in a plastic box and includes a short set of cables for connecting to the battery that has a problem. Charge them with 120v, and they're ready to work anytime, without the hassle and risk to your truck! Great for boats, tractors, anything that needs 12 volts, but doesn't get enough regular use to keep it's own battery charged.

Also, do what I do - Hide the key to the truck!

Wish I could have hidden the keys from my wife-she gave them to him. She almost went swimming with him, too, in the middle of the lake!

Double dummy problem number two.

Oldchap has a great recommendation...

I have one of those battery boxes, and, to my surprise, it jumped off my SD with no problem (battery in truck was completely dead).

It has a built in air compressor, 12V cigarette adapter, and built in light... A great investment for under 50 bucks...

email me for link to site...This is definitely a must have for every truck owner's toolbox.
