Does anybody know?

Same as last night. I bought a reground crank for my 351M, (spun two rods, one let go) the box says .020 on the mains but they measure 2.975 which is .025 under the 3.000 which I believe is standard. What am I missing? Bearings come in .010, .020, .030, etc. increments. Oil clearance is .0008 to .0026 according to the manual. Assuming the bearings take up .020, that leaves .0025 clearance which is near the max limit. Are the bearings thicker than their specification indicates? Or is my crank ground .005" too small? Help me out here. I don't want to buy the .020 brgs., plasti-gage them and find out they don't fit.

First double check you mic. Check other mains and rods to see if there is any consistency. If it is correct, then you have a crank that is ground to far.
