Question Facebook question

Does anyone know of a way to keep someone on your friends list, but receive absolutely no status or postings from them. I got a sticky situation, and I can't unfriend the person, but I dont want to see their status or wall posts in my news feed.

Let me guess... a relative.

And I'm not on FB so I can't answer your question.

last time I checked I think you can choose an option where they can't post status updates on your wall or you can delete them if they do,you don't have to unfriend them.

Yep, it is a relative. She has kind of lost it and I don't want to add to the issue by unfriending her. She posts alot, and I don't like having to delete all of that.
Thanks cjben, I will try that option.

When you mouse over their post, there is a down arrow. Click that and it will allow you to hide all from them.

Another way to do it is to mouse over the name, then when the box pops up mouse over "subscribed". A list will drop down, then you can select "unsubscribe" to remove their posts from your news feed. Either way, it accomplishes the same thing.

And , when you post on your wall or the home wall you can also exclude this person from seeing it. In the text field, left of the post button there is a friend button, click the down arrow and you will see public, friends or custom. Click custom and enter the friends name under "Hide this from". Some friends like to cyber stalk thru friends of friends.

Thanks. I will do that. It would of been much simpler to have not added family.
