07 F-250, bone stock performance wise. I feel like it runs differently almost every time I drive it. Sometimes I barely have to give it any gas, it just moves itself effortlessly. Other times I can't accelerate at a normal pace without hitting 2500 rpm. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a "loss of power", because anyone who didn't drive the truck every day wouldn't even notice it. It just seems like some days the truck can accelerate much easier. Anyone else notice this?
Mine varies before it has warmed up, and unpredictably. Or maybe it is predictable, but I haven't figured out the parameters yet. But once it is fully warmed up, it feels consistently strong.
Mine was performing similar. Some days it would accelerate, other days it wouldn't. It finally got to where it would not. I removed the turbo and the unison ring was frozen in place. I have it all back together, just waiting on a new FICM harness. I'm anxious to see how it performs now.
My 05 with the blue fuel pressure spring does the same thing. Everytime I turn the key it drives differently. Like the OP said, sometimes everything is right there on my command and then sometimes it's not. I just thought it was the nature of the beast.
It would be nice if it would drive the same everytime I drove it.

At first I thought this too. Today was one of the "slow" days so I drove past my house and waited for it to fully warm up. Still acted the same...

ABSOLUTELY love it....
In your case I think the SCT might have something to do with that
Mine is only sightly sluggish when the engine is below 150 degrees, but I typically baby it until it is warmed up.
this goes for me 2 baby it till 150*
They do tend to run ruff when it gets cold because Diesel Fuel ignites with compression & HEAT
This is where I figure the cold weather stratigy comes into play not shure but I think it must Buzz the injectors alittle longer before actual startup and leave the glow plugs on longer
I was running mobile 1`synthetic oil and it would start Great then I changed to rotella T-6 and seems to be a touch ruffer at startup but in the defense of the rotella it did get colder so IDK
I dont plug it in till it gets below freezing temps at night

Im glad im not the only one, i would swear my truck has its good and bad days like anyone else. Some days runs like a raped ape and other days its smees like a slug or less powerful version of itself.
But boy you get it up to running temp, 190* and on a cold dense fall morning she is gone like a rocket, and a little help from matt and sct.

I have noticed on cool, dry nights it always seems to be in "fast" mode. Today wasn't hot, but it was pretty humid so maybe that's why it was slow. I'm going to start remembering the weather on the days its sluggish and see if I can come up with some sort of connection.
The Colder the air the more molicules it has to burn making it more combustable
this is why we have a charge air cooler Right before the intake air dumps into the intake manafold
I have noticed a gain in MPG since I did an EGR Deleate no more recycling Burnt spent air plus it keeps intake air colder
1 -2 mpg gain since on the overhead lieometer
I switched to synthetic oil at the same time too
One thing that came to mind was depending on where you're at and what the weathers' been lately, the fueling stations may not have changed over to the winter blend of fuel and that could have an affect of how the engine is running, just a thought. When the weather started to get a little colder, I noticed my truck would a little differently as well.
