A/C Odor

A/C Odor
Has anyone experienced a chemical odor from their air conditioner vents when running the A/C primarily but still smells a bit with the heat on as well. The odor goes away after a few minutes from startup and is non existent after 10 minutes of run time.
The odor started out of the blue one day and did not build up to it. The dealer stated that they ran an "Odor Deodarant " kit through the ducts. I havent picked it up yet but I'm suspect of the solution.
The smell is definetly chemical in nature. The dealer said this is common with people who run their a/c on recirculate, I never do however. Also no smoking..
