Hey guys I got a Ranch Hand Legend Grille Guard for free for my 2000 F250 Super Duty. I've figured out how they mount next to the tow hooks, but I can't figure out where the bottom bracket mounts to. The place it looks like is into the bottom of the leaf spring, but that can't be right. Am I missing a bracket for it somewhere? No hardware came with this Grille. Thank guys.
Lets see a photo. I will bet you that you got a grille guard for the 2005-2007 trucks, part# GGF051BL1. The correct RH grill guard for 1999-2004 is part# GGF99SBL1. The 2005 has bars along the bottom of the guard that bolt onto the underside of the 2005-2007 bumper in addition to the front bumper bolts. The 1999-2004 front end is a different design and does not have these mounting spots. You will find that the 2005-2007 guard, which I believe you have, will not fit your bumper anyway as the cutout to fit around the bumper is smaller on the newer guard and will not fit around the older bumper.
SORRY ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE PHOTOS, THEY ARE LINKED DIRECTLY FROM RANCHHAND.COM
Old guard: (Notice that the bottom bar of the headlight surround is almost equal in location to the bottom bar under the grille)
New guard: (Notice the design of the mesh to match the 05-07 grille and the headlight/signal light separator bar is higher to match the newer lights)
Just looked at Ranchhand.com and my grille looks exactly like the one on the 2008. Thank you so much for your help. I wouldn't of thought to check other years.
