I'm assuming you already know that Gryphon's are just Edge's with custom tunes. If not, well then now you do. The difference between the three are just simply the way they look.

The regular Gryphon is the older model and has a monochrome screen. They are usually much cheaper as well.
The CS is a newer model color screen.
The CTS is a newer model color touch screen about twice the size of the CS.

so is it worth it or should i go a different route? Im used to Chevy, we have a guy in town (Fastchip aka Ed Wright Automotive) that is well known for his chips, programming, and custom tuning so I knew exactly what to do. The whole ford thing is new to me and Im not sure which way to go. I just have heard a whole lot about Gryphon so figured I couldnt go wrong.

"is it worth it" now there's a loaded question-could apply to all the mods you listed.

The "old" Gryphon also comes with a dash mount (which I like and some people hate). The "old" ones are about to be discontinued from production too. If you read through all the threads on different forums discussing programmers, you should be able to make your own decision. If you still can't decide after all your own research, you should probably not spend your money on any of the mods.

Not tying to **** you off. It's just that some folks on the fence spend money on other peoples' advice, then get mad if the spent money doesn't turn their truck into a raging drag race dominator that gets 30 mpg.

LOL, ones opinion on the internet wont **** me off! Im not caring about ripping it up on the track, after all this is the wifes truck. Im just wanting a little more get up and go out of it! May just stick with the JBA and CAI for now. She seems to dig it.

Research the CAI before you buy it of course, most don't add much since they feed the engine warmed air from the under the hood and not the fender well like the factory intake.

Let us know how the JBA headers work for you. Shorties I am guessing. I have been looking at them as well as e-fan setup. Just wish I didn't miss the boat on the blow out on the non-intercooled blowers for the 5.4 a couple years ago. Now looking at 5k+ for intercooled installed.
I have the Edge CS and picked it over the CTS as the buttons made more sense at the time to me than the extra screen space of the CTS and having to use a touch screen in the truck. You can also pipe a back up camera thru the CTS.

Sic6,
If you look at the cost of the items you're listing I think you might want to consider an alternative. (I also have a 4.6)
After a lot of research on real gains/improvement versus money spent this is what I did; Gotts mod instead of expensive CAI, and A Gryphon (Edge+) programmer. If you do some reading on the subject you'll find the Gotts mod is a much cheaper and more practicle/effective intake mod. It does not draw hot air from inside the engine area as most "CAIs" do, and has no lean fuel/air issues. The only down side is it doesn't look snazzy. The Gryphon (or other writable programmer of your choice) will improve the drivability of the truck accross the board and allow for reprogramming as you wish with additional modifications later. I don't personally believe exhaust mods will do very much for the 4.6 unless forced induction comes into play, but a lot of folks like a louder sound. Pick a muffler you like if that's the case. I plan to convert to e-fan[s] in the near future also. Most who have done so report a small improvement in mileage and performance, and an improvement in air conditioner cooling.
I'm just a cheap old fart though.
