c3 transmission problem...

c3 transmission problem...
Hey all, my ford is acting up again. when i drive at all times, i notice the car seems to short shift from 1-2, and its never smooth like 2-3. lately iv noticed by the time my 10 minute commute to school is up, the car clunks when it downshifts into 1st. it sort of bumps the car a little too. i drove the car across the city last weekend, and by the time i got their the clunk had developed a mettallic sound to it. most of the time its just a regular ol' clunk though. any ideas on the possible problem? thanks in advance!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what a C3 transmission is. I've never heard of it. Why do you think you have a C3?
And, are you sure you are on the right forum? This is a truck forum and you said "car" 4 times in your post.
Edit: In rereading this it sure sounds ...... snotty. That's not what was intended. Sorry.
Let's figure out what tranny you have and start over. If it is a truck slide under and count the transmission pan bolts and let us know.
