CAC Boots

Well, I blew out my upper CAC boot yesterday on the way home from a great weekend. (the one off the turbo)

Stopped for a bite to eat and gave Clay at RiffRaff diesel a call. Wondered if he could get them to me the next day. It was about 1:30 pm West Coast time, and He was pretty sure they would get to me.

Sure as heck, I just got the delivery. Sent them UPS ground, not over night like I thought I would need to have done. He sure knows His shipping!

I'll fix the bad one today, and put the rest on this weekend.

Thanks Clay.

Clay is on top of his game for sure. I saw one of his competitors having to put the powermax on "sale" just to get rid of their overstock. Way to go Clay. You rock!!!

It's in.

Clay sent along a window decal. Now, I'm not one for window decals. The only one I've had was a decal for a good friends new burger shop in Central Oregon.

But, for a season, RiffRaff will be there also. ( And I like promoting Oregon companies)

Thanks for posting your experience w/ RiffRaff Sean. He seems to be a great vendor for sure. One thing I have done w/ a few decals is to put them on a magnet sheet, cut them out, and stick them on my tailgate. That way I can remove them easily. I have gotten great service from Dieselsite, Quadzilla and 8-Lug, so I put them on the tailgate for some advertisement (and their decals are relatively small). I might get some from BPD and PHP and rotate them around. Like you said - when you have good experiences, you like to advertise!

hopefully you did not get a dent in the hood .........

No dent. The darn thing just shredded! Looks like some sort of mesh screen. I had to really work to get the boot off. Guess the hairspray really does work. I had that boot off a couple years ago and used hairspray.

Thanks Sean, we appreciate you allowing us on your window

Hit us up next week as we have smaller, text only decals being made that might suit you better

I thought there were only two boots, but after looking at Clay's website I see there are four. If I raise the hood I can find two right away(one at the turbo and one right underneath the coolant filter location). Where are the other two?

Some people have a tube that requires two boots on the cold side as well as the ones on the hot side.

One under the air filter. The other is right up front, just behind the Powerstroke
emblem. On the 04's anyway. Don't the 05's have some sort of plastic tubing there?

See just above the word "Secondary"

My '04 has a plastic tube on the cold side also. It may be an early vs late build thing.

Actually David, I'm a late build, so not sure of when they actually made the change. Butterfly valve?

I'm not sure either. I've never looked to see if I have a butterfly valve. They did replace my turbo under warranty at 24000 miles, before I bought it. So they might have put the newer tube on them.
