Welcome to FTE
Warn winches were not offered by FoMoCo for F Series trucks. A Warn winch 'kit' was available at Ford Dealer parts counters, but only for 1966/77 Bronco's.
The winch on your truck was either dealer installed...using a kit supplied by Warn, or installed by a previous owner. I doubt the Bronco kit was used, because of how it was mounted.
Ford did offer factory installed Warn Hubs for 4WD's, which were also available as a kit at the parts counter.

If it has a 390, it was swapped in, as the only available V8 offered for 1968/76 F100/250 4WD's was the 360 2V.
On sale day, 360 engines magically become 390's.
The engine code is the 4th digit of the VIN:
1968/72 F100/250 4WD: A = 240 I-6 (standard equipment) / B = 300 I-6 (optional) / Y = 360 2V (optional).
heres my vin tag does this seem to match up up with being what i said about it earlier? i had a hard time reading the vin decoder on fordification. i was really wanting to know what that green color is called. i have two different doors and a fender and a hood off a 72 f100 and i was wondering what would be a color to color match them my hood has dents and some cancer along with the doors and fender and what are your guys thoughts about putting my vin tag on that new door?
sorry for posting so much but i just love this site its pretty addicting if you ask me haha
on and my pictures are kind of out of order the first picture i posted is how it is now. i wrecked it 1 year ago and i just got new tires about a week ago and now im on to my next project back up lights. any idea where the plug goes on the tranny? i cannot find it anywhere. its a 4 speed i think its factory one not sure though
