i'm going into either two new BFG allterrain due to a blown tire or a new set of yokohama 37 1250 20
my questions are
what was the largest tire to fit on the stock lift of a 08 king ranch
and should i do it my 05 ram hemi became less enjoyable to drive such as being bogged down and down shifts oh the dreaded down shift, how have you all felt about your oversized tire packages on the hits of cornering ride comfort towing and fuel mileage
good mpg with 37's?, dont think so. the diesel will do the same thing down shift on ever hill and get horrible MPG. even if you regear correctly to fix the downshift problem it still is going to get bad MPG.
I have a 2003 SD CC with a 5.4L and 66800 miles on the odo and its a 2wd and I average high 11 mpg going up the cajon pass on a daily basis. It is lifted 6 inches with a pro-comp lift kit and a 3 inch body lift the previous owner installed. They key for me has been upkeep and keeping my foot out of the throttle. I am hitting 55mph on the flat spots at 1500rpm and downshifts to 2250rpm with the lockup engaged and I climb it easily. I usually run between 55-62 mph and i find that is the sweet spot for me. If i get the trans to downshift to 2550 rpm then lockup and drop to 2250 rpm i think i do pretty good MPG wise for how big and underpowered the truck is. My tires are 37 inch TSL radials and about as obnoxious as you can get on the road. Again I bought it this way for a real good price but I have a set of used BFG AT i am going to install when these tires get a little lower on tread.
