i have two super duty's, a 99 gas auto, and a 01 diesel manual. the diesel is option delete and im selling the gas truck. i have already started removing all the power locks, window motor, and mirrors from the gas truck and installed them in the diesel. and installed the manual locks, windows, mirrors in the gas truck.
now, i need to find out where the door harness goes past the door and into the cab. i plan on pulling the harness and useing that to plug everything in. any body do this before? if so i cant find anything but power window write ups. i see it goes to the kick pannle, but i cant see where it goes, and ive only got to look inside the drivers side so far but i cant find out where it goes. im thinking i may have to pull the e brake pedal off and look back there? what about where it ends up, does it plug into the GEM or is it just a one touch window timer and plugs into the fuse box? i really need a EVTM but dont have one for these 2 trucks.
sorry i cant help but i would have given you my power stuff for the manual windows and locks in a heart beat. I hate power! STICKS AND CRANKS ALL THE WAY
Lol yeah its way easier to put manual in then power too. If / when I figure this out ill try a write up. My ranger is option delete too, but its easier to reach and open the window with my foot on the break/clutch in that lol. Kinda stretching it in the SD.
well i finished putting in power windows, locks, and mirrors from my Donor truck 2 weeks ago. this was a major pain in the ***, i had to pull the dash from both trucks along with most of both interiors. basically, there's a accessory harness behind the dash. that has to come out and be put into the other truck. that has the plug for the power windows and locks. also, i put in the 2 back speakers and the nicer dome light with the map lights. i ran everything in the factory locations used the same plugs. the only thing i ended up changing is i ran a constant power wire into the cab where i put a 4 fuse holder for my new options. i was going to re-pin my power distribution block but i wasn't sure if there were any changes between the years so i played it safe. also... the GEM on the Donor truck had 2 more plugs on it then the diesel and a few of the wires end up there, i think for one power delay, or something but anyway i just used the separate fuse block.
the window switches get power from the blue wire with a black stripe. the drivers door drivers side window switch has to have one wire cut that goes inside the cab. you then cut the wire from the motor that also goes to the cab and solder them together. other wise the window won't work. i stole power for the lights on the switches from the head light switch. o, and i also hooked up the glove box light i know, who cares lol, but its pretty awesome when its dark.
