Just finished a camping trip and was a little disappointed in the milage.
F250
3:70 gears
6.2 gas
Pulling 8250 lbs fifth wheel
average speed about 60
95% interstate
only mod is a K&N filter
The average MPG was 9.6 over 372 miles.
This is a 2011 truck with 12000 miles
I got better milage in my 08 F150 running ram air and 3:70 gears. Was wondering if any one had similar number to compare?
9.6 sounds good to me too, I would actually expect it to be lower. Your F-150 got better mileage, but the F-250 is 1500-2000 lbs heavier, and has a bigger engine.
Thanks for the info. The F150 was pulling a fifth wheel. It did have ram air from K&N I was not sure on the millage. My first 250. I thought it might have been a little better but the 9.6 was not bad as you guys point out. Was trying to get some reference, Think I might add the Airaid ram air and see what that does.

I wouldn't bother with an aftermarket intake. The stock intake already supplies more air than the engine needs, and is engineered for maximum efficiency. You most likely won't see any noticeable difference. The "high flow" filters also allow more dirt through, so you are better off just sticking with the stock intake and air filter.
Only time you need an intake that flows more air is if you have significant engine mods done.
