It's not the miles but roads traveled.
I have an 87 150 with over 200k and it still runs like a new sewing machine. I-6 300 is a tough engine to kill. My 04 F250 has 125k and doing well.

which engine? My dad totalled a 4.6 Expedition recently with right at 300k. Little maintenance, just the minimum is all he will do. The modulars are pretty bulletproof. His was an 01.

The F-250 has the 5.4L. Seems to run well but I only get 16mpg highway, average 13mpg around town. The only modification to the truck so far is a K&N filter. I have found that I get 1mpg better with the K&N.

That mileage for both is pretty good, but i think the newer 5.4's get better than the older ones. I only get about 13-14 out of my 02 E350, combined driving. I've never seen 16 but would love to.

There are a few 5.4s in the 300K and 400K clubs. Not to mention the Million Mile Van. He has close to 1.3 million on his original 5.4 now. The transmission was rebuilt shortly after 1 million, though. He usually does a 10-20K oil change interval and has gone as long as 55K between changes. It does burn a lot of oil now, but hey, it still runs, and he still drives it all over the country for work.
