Is that the 460 engine I gave Morris years ago. It was a rebuilt motor then seized from sitting one winter without any antifreeze. I just could not break it loose. So I gave it to Morris. Then I believe he gave it to you.

Yeah it was a rebuilt 460. So the engine was tight. I pulled the radiator out to replace the one in my 78 truck at the time. Thus draining the coolant. Over the winter sitting outside with newer tight rings it seized up.
I put diesel in the cylinders and and other knock her loose stuff and she would not budge.
I was told the rings probally stuck to cylinder walls from no coolant.

I don`t see how no coolant would seize an engine but what do I know.

I wastold with the engine all new parts are fitting tighter. If sitting outside in the elements without any oil in the cyl. after draining the coolant. It will seize due to everything fit tighter. It gives frost a chance to create rust on the rings and valves, thus causing them to seize.
Engines with some milage. Have wear in them and less likely to seize.
