Where can I get running board supports for moulded type of boards

or do I have to make my own ?

oh yeah, might as well post over here that I'm on the lookout for a SHORT bed and 2 front fenders in the REEF BLUE and WHITE combo like this. I'm near Baltimore. This is the color combo

Think you are screwed on the molded running boards. None in current production, but maybe you can find a used set in the junk yard or ebay

Line I said. NO ONE offers those style steps for your truck anymore.

LUND used to make them and it was an option from FORD, but Lund got bought out and no longer produces them and Ford hasnt offered them since the late 90s

you are going to have to get the supports made, but any competent machinist/fabricator should be able to do it with the measurements off your old ones. most you find in a junk yard will likely be rusted also, they are in a perfect spot to catch road salt, mud, etc. so they rust out and weaken.

Yep gonna have to get someone to fab something up for you, or do it yourself. Probably wouldn't be hard to do if you had a welder and something to cut metal.

I bought a cheap wire feed welder from Northern Tool for $150 to do some repair on my ATV trailer and now I don't know what I ever did without it.

What it looked like to me was bent tubing

Either with heat or tube bender. We got a welding shop where I work. I think I saw a good one at a junk yard. Pull it and see if they can make me one. Might be a good way for someone to make some side money.

I live in a dry climate with no road salt, I never take my truck off road, and those supports rusted out on my truck (they were packed full of sand/mud). Couldn't find replacements anywhere, but we were able to weld in new metal tubing to salvage the originals. I also drilled holes at the lowest part, so hopefully they'll drain in the future. Sprayed 'em with black epoxy paint & they look good!

Weld flatstock to the ends and bolt ti to the frame. FYI wet rebar is slick as ICE

Perforated L-iron and some galvanized bolts. Welding is not required. You might need to drill, but I was able to reuse the existing holes. No welding.

Since it will be underneath the running boards,i don't think he will be stepping on it,so doesn't matter if it is slick. LOL

Hunt4fun, you got any photos ?

Or at least the size of L-iron ? I would probably opt for plain angle iron and drill my own holes.

Measure the depth of the board where it would be obscured from the road side POV if it can hide 2 inch then 2 in angle it is ... 3, use 3 More then 3 inch is not needed unless you have some 600 LB friends. At that point I would not let them ride in the cab.. I have a bed for big, hot, greasy or sharp loads.

Yeah 3" means it hangs down 3" closer to road.

TOO CLOSE. 2" or 2 1/2" should work.
