running boards

Im putting running boards on my 53. Im thinking of spraying them with bed protector material like linex or something. has any one tryed this before. thought it would protect them better and give a nice rough serface. but i no that once its on its not coming off.

Do a search. This was heavily discussed some time ago, you may be able to get it it seemed very helpfull to me. they say that it comes in customizable colors. I'm thinking about doing it myself.
