Found a complete 5.0 and AOD out of an 1988. I think it even has an aftermarket harness on it already, and the guy threw in some headers, and even a MINT tailgate as well!
All that for 5 bills! I'm pretty happy to say the least.
Just be absolutely sure you get the tv cable properly adjusted on that AOD... even the slightest bit out and you can kiss that trans goodbye in a matter of a few miles.
Wow! You did good. Several years ago I sold just the AOD from an 88 T-Bird for $450.
And it all started from an Ebay ad for just the 5.0. I emailed him asking about the AOD. He said he happened to have one, and that he was working on a 56 F100! After a few messages he said he had a tailgate he'd throw in.
But he asked $500, and I thought that I would check it out. When I got there, he started looking for other stuff he wouldn't use, ie, shorty headers and the tailgate.

Sort of. I let the clutch stuff go with the big truck. The setup on the current frame looks similar, just without a clutch pedal. My biggest reason for wanting to go automatic was just so I wouldn't have to deal with clutch linkages. I'm going to run a floor-mounted shifter for the auto.

Yeah, I can't begin to describe how appreciative I am. The tailgate that came with my parts truck is in HORRIBLE condition. This one could practically be bolted onto a show truck.
