Went and looked at the 03 Eddie Bauer with 146k. Loved it. Bought it. They lowered the price to 10500 but with tax, title and licence, it came around 12k. Only 2 owners with good maintenance records. Had a shop inspect it and they said it was in great mechanical condition. Stayed in AZ it's whole life so no rust. The dealer took it it for oil change, they also replaced the sway bar links and sealed a hole in the exhaust. I'm so exited. I will pick it up tomorrow evening. Will post pics. Thanks for all the advices and help. This forum is great.
I want to replace the stock tires with more aggressive looking ones. Any suggestions. The current tires I think are LT265/75 16.
If you're looking for something a little more aggressive, but with on road manners, take a page from the book of BF Goodrich.
Their All-terrain T/A can claw it's way through anything off road and still be as quiet as a normal highway tire. 4 years and 4 sets later my BFG All-Terrains still have a hard time letting go of the road (rain or any adverse weather conditions) have always given me excellent wear and mileage.
Congrats on the new X, welcome to the family. As mentioned above the BFG AT's are a great tire, love mine. I believe you will need 25 posts before you can post up a picture though... So get busy.
I always complain that my headlights are not strong enough and have a hard time at night going through areas that are not lit or not well lit.
The headlight assembly is not bad but could use some updating.
1- should I buy a new oem headlight assembly and install brighter bulbs?
2- should I convert to hid?
If hid, I don't want to buy aftermarket bulb and harness only because I don't want to be that guy. I am willing to buy a new assembly meant for hid's that will be a direct fit replacement.
Not sure they make a direct fit replacement for our trucks in the HID. Silver stars are always a good way to go. If you do replace go with OEM. A little pricier but well worth it.
Ordered Bfg tires at discount tires. Originally wanted $926 for 4. They have a promotion tomorrow where you save the tax. I asked if they would do buy 3 tires get the 4th free, he said that with the promo it's like saving 50% on a tire and that he will take the other 50% off to get the full discount. 4 Bfg all terrain load range e for around $700. Niiiiiccceee.
