yesterday this truck was working fine, but this morning they came back to the yard and said that the truck was shifting crazy,it would shift up then down, and the shift's were hard shift's,and the speed-o-meter quit working at the same time,I know it has some thing to do with the way it's shifting, but the odometer does't even have any numbers showing, its like there isn't any power to it,what I would like to know is there a relay or module that controls the speed-o-meter,I know the cruse control is tied up it in but this is a 7.3 DI diesel and the cruse control must be built in the system, this transmission was rebuilt last summer and it hasn't had a problem, but trying to talk to the shop is ,well they wont talk on the phone, has any one dealt with this before ?
Your speedometer problem is causing your trans problem. A common failure is the "PSOM" programmable speedometer odometer module, search on that, basically you probably need a new speedometer. Also the VSS, vehicle speed sensor.
