What Is it

ON my F150 XLT on the bottom of the dash just above the break pedal is a black square connector.It looks like a OBDll but it isn't my scanner OBDll is to big to connect to it.Besides my truck is a OBDl and the connector is under the hood left side.I tried to post a picture but forum won't let me unless I have a URL which I don't.Does anyone have an idea as to what it is .

Is it a rectangular plug with 6 connectors/wires? If so it's probably for a trailer brake controller. If so it should mate withe the gray plug in the sample pic below.

It doesn't look like that mine is longer and flatter.I wish I could post a picture of it.

Not sure but the bolts don't look like Ford factory bolts.. I wonder if it is something added on by a previous owner..


That's definitely NOT for a trailer brake controller...

Lets see if my attempt at posting a pic works.
That looks aftermarket to me, what colr wires hook to it and can you tell where they go?
