That seems like a fair price for all that work and parts!

I wouldn't tune it right after doing it, run it for a few hundred miles

You're going to love driving that truck knowing its way more reliable than factory.

I hope so man !!!! Honestly the tuner is more of a freeby to earn my business .... Seems that shops are really competing for business these days (and they all know each other) it's like a brotherhood haha...

Question on the tuner ? Or actually more about diesels in general... I'm going to use it mostly for mileage gains (economy) how is it that diesels get better MPG by increasing HP ? From a former gasser that seems obviously backward to me ? What's the science ?

Tuners adding fuel mileage is a load of BS in my opinion.

I think the truck is factory tuned to get the best MPG right off the bat.

Adding more HP and TQ is just running the motor harder, higher RPMS, ETC.

Plus when my truck is tuned, its hard to keep off of it, trust me.

I am assuming the Edge CTS, is just for temps or is that all it does?

SCT is the best tuner for the 6.0

Yea it's gauges pretty much , measures pretty much anything..... Some are add ons but most come on it from what I see . Plus I think you can put a backup camera on it somehow ?

I just wanted the gauges and for the price this seems like the best buy for one thatll read EgT's

Any thoughts on slapping a Difuser coolant filter on once I get the truck home ? With the EGR gone , that should in theory make my new oil cooler last longer right ?

Coolant filters are highly recommended by many... A great investment.

I'm going to go against the grain and say tuners can add mpgs. Keep in mind factory tunes are there to keep the epa happy too. Advancing the timing on just about any stock diesel will add mpgs and power... it will also make more nox, from the higher pressures generated, which the epa doesn't so much like.

I use Zerex when I flush , I would imagine that when they put me back together it will be ELC, as they use rotella products.

Quite the list you've got there, wish I could get that for my truck (standing in corner kicking rocks). I guess I'm one of the few that says leave the EGR cooler in place. It's only a matter of time before the tree hugging Prius drivers get their way, emission testing in all 50 states. When that comes your truck will be covered since it was built after the EPA Teirs started. Besides, it's the oil cooler's plugging that takes out the EGR cooler. What ever you do, keep that EGR valve & plugged in; the last couple of flashes if you unplug the EGR the radiator fan won't come on...could have an overheating issue, especially when towing. A tuner will cut down the amount of time the EGR valve is open, that's part of where your mileage increase should come from. The other part is the theory that since you've got more power you won't be on the throttle as much...thus less fuel consumption. Like I said, it's a theory.
