6.0 Trans Cooler Mod

So last wednesday I picked up my very first diesel being a 95 powerstroke and there are a few things I'd like to do to it for some added trany strength. I have already gotten ahold of Paul and hes making me a Punisher Valve body and when I have the cab off I'll have my injectors sent to roosewoods for a stage 1 upgrade (I know not a trans mod).

I have heard that the 6.0 trans cooler is a huuge upgrade. Does it matter if it is the 26 or 31 row? Will both work alright? Do I need a separate fan or anything for it? And whats a reasonable price?

I found this and may buy it if the cooler is all I need.

I think that the bigger is better but the 26 is big enough to cool your tranny without an extra fan and bigger than a Tru-cool max. The price seems fine to me. good luck.

The 26 row is actually the later style and more efficient, but either one will work great. Most of them go for $100-200 usually used. No separate fan needed. The inlet/outlet ports on the 6.0 cooler are 1/2" so you'll need some 1/2" hose rated for trans fluid, and some reducers or adapters to connect to the stock plumbing.
I hope you're not pulling the cab to get to the injectors, this is a 7.3 not a 6.4.
On edit- the Tru-Cool max that Jose referred to is the exact same cooler as a stock V10 cooler, still an upgrade but nowhere near as big as the 6.0 cooler. The 6.0 cooler is big enough that it could be a radiator in a rice burner, I kid you not.

Will it just sit in front of the stock radiator in place of where the old one was?

So now im trying to find a Boost, EGT, and trans temp gauge.

Boost - Do you need a "sending unit" with all of the gauges? Mechanical or electrical? 35 or 60 psi?

EGT - Sending unit? Also 1600 good enough?

Trans Temp - Electrical or mechanical again sending unit? and 100 - 250 or 140 - 280?

sorry for all the questions.. I feel like im learning mechanics all over again haha None of my gas jobs had any of these.

Whatever gauges you buy should come with everything you need, unless you go used. Isspro EV or EV2 from Riffraff Diesel is what I'd buy.
Boost- 30psi for a stock truck, 40 for a truck with stage 1's or 2's, 60 for anything else.
EGT- 1600° is plenty
Trans- 100-250 is fine.

Should the trany gauge be electrical or mechanical? What would the electrical ones hook up too? Here are the options

2 1/16 in. diameter - Auto Meter Ultra-Lite - Auto Meter - Transmission temperature - Gauges, Analog - Gauges & Accessories - SummitRacing.com

All the ones I've seen are electric and they have a temp sensor that screws into the test port on the side of the trans.
