do you think they will total my truck
Hi guys, been a while since ive been on but i have been battling health problems. so i was going for a nice ride out to see some leaves today when the unthinkable happens. i was pulling into a parking lot when a guy in a trail blazer smashes into me while trying to pass me and another car. i never saw or heard this car coming. i checked my mirror before turning and he was know were in site. come to find out the cops believe he was traveling in excess of 110 mph when he broadsided me in the front driverside wheel. my question is do you think they will total my truck? the body damage in minimal but my front axle is a different story. plus 430,000 miles

well just from looking at it on the wrecker when we picked it up i notice that both knuckles for the ball joints are snapped, the inner axle was jammed into the pumkin, the rear spring hanger was ripped off, two of the leafs are cracked, the drivers side tirod is bent in a U, and the power steering box exploded! and thats not even includeing the body work to be done.
but thanks. i put a lot of time and money in that truck. the worst part is that i just completly redid the front end in it 4 months ago.

they'll try to. Just be firm that you don't want it totalled, or buy it back from them and fix it. A similar thing happened to me in 03. Rf wheel all but broke off, almost no body damage, a scuff on my front bumper. $10,000 in damage????. they wanted to total it, I asked them to fix it and they did.

A seven year old male was life flighted to Buffalo Children's Hospital and a Port Allegany man was transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital by ambulance after the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer they were traveling in struck a Ford F-250 truck on Monday afternoon on Rt. 155, in front of the Two Mile Inn.
James L. Tucker, 40, of Port Allegany, the driver of the Trailblazer, was ejected from his vehicle. Troopers listed his injuries as unknown in severity.
A 7 year old male passenger in Tucker's Trailblazer was initially reported unresponsive with head injuries. He was transported to a landing zone at Bigley's field on Two Mile Road and flown to Buffalo Children's Hospital. Troopers did not know the severity of his injuries. Seat belts were not in use according to the news release.
Jeffrey R. Singer, 25, of Emporium, PA, driver of the Ford F-250 sustained a minor injury but did not require transport by ambulance. His passenger, Ryan J. Schons, 25, of Rimersburg, PA, was not injured. They were wearing seat belts.
State Police said the two vehicle crash occurred as both vehicles were traveling north on Route 155 near the Two Mile Restaurant at 1:41 pm.
Tucker passed a vehicle directly in front of him and began to pass the F-250 truck in a passing zone, traveling north in the southbound lane.
Witnesses said Tucker was driving at a high rate of speed while passing both vehicles.
As Tucker attempted to pass the truck, the truck had already begun making a left turn with it's left turn signal activated. Tucker's Trailblazer impacted the driver's side front of the truck, then continued northbound, off the roadway, slightly impacting a low hanging portion of the Two Mile Restaurant's roof. The vehicle continued northward while airborne and spinning, and impacted a tree located in the front yard at 3422 Route 155 with it's passenger side where it came to final rest.
The truck sustained disabling damage and a flat tire, coming to rest in the Two Mile Restaurant's parking lot with the rear of the vehicle partially in the southbound lane of Rt. 155.
The crash remains under investigation.
State Police from the Kane Station were assisted by Port Allegany Ambulance, Star Hose Company #1, Star Flight Medevac, and the McKean County District Attorney's office.
