After 4 years I finally took the 56 F-350 on its maiden voyage. Funny thing is, with the exception of brakes and an oil change, it is pretty much as I bought it (long and boring story).
Man was it a blast, needs some exhaust work and a fresh tune-up wouldn't hurt anything but rolled right down the road. Hit a top speed of over 55 without too much protest from the 292 and it kept it's cool. Was having so much fun I ran out of gas but was within walking distance of home so had a good laugh.
That is one nice looking F350 in your gallery. I have one like that in Meadow green that I will have on the road by spring. Well, it was fully roadable when I got it but I wanted to go thru it, paint and replace the wood in the bed. Mine has the nine foot Ford logo stake bed with a hydraulic dump. It will be a light duty work truck here on my place. Mine has 17.5 inch wheels all around. Yours appear to be larger.
Funny, mine was Meadow Green before the PO painted it re-sale red. Doubt if I ever re-paint but if I do will probably go back original.
My wheels are 17.5s too. I have a line on an additional 4 wheels (for my M&S tires) but the seller and I have a delivery problem, will eventually work it out if he doesn't sell locally. Once yours is presentable (or as is) I'd love to see a picture of one in Meadow Green. Love the script beds too, I almost bought a whole truck for one.
This is the only photo I have and it is from the PO's pb account. right now I am readying the truck for paint and it is not quite this pretty. It is a good solid old truck but I want to improve it a bit before I put it on the road. It does have what I would call very minor rust, nothing serious, nothing structural. The original color was meadow green but the color on the truck is not exactly right, a good match but slightly brighter. Perhaps the original paint I've uncovered is faded. I doubt if you can tell from the photo reproduction quality. I will go correct when I paint it.
