so about three weeks ago I purchased a fifth wheel trailer. it was about 1000kms west of us. I have been running Matts SRL tune in the truck for the last 8 months. brought the sct SF3 along so I could change to the 8000k tow tune once we picked up the trailer. so that Friday night at the hotel we stayed at I put the tune in, lets say i had a lot of trouble doing this, it kept giving me errors, but finally I installed the tow tune.
the next morning after picking up the trailer i noticed that the tow/haul light would illuminate for a couple of seconds then go out and the transmission would not go into the mode. I thought that i had done something wrong when i did the programming the night before, I tried installing the tune again and the same thing, light on for a couple of seconds then never to return. I then tried the stock file and the same thing! mother %$##@##$ Piece of ##$% Son of a $R$&^ So I drove home like this not very happy!!
After i returned home i tried this whole thing again, no luck!
So I contacted SCT online help thinking that my stock file is corrupted.
They then re flashed my SF3 via remoteing into my computer and reinstalled my stock file onto the SF3, (Thanks SCT you guys are excellent to work with).
So here I am all smiles and I go out to my truck with my reset and updated SF3, re flash my truck to stock and we are good to go RIGHT, F^%$ NO.
it still is the same, so last weekend i and screwing around with the truck and i an just playing with the tow/haul switch, I press it the light comes on and i pull the shifter back about a 1/2 inch and the light goes off, let go and the light comes on WTF, so i pull the column covers off and guess what I found! So off to the stealer ship to spend half a paycheck, or so I thought, but to my surprise it was under a 100 bucks. I installed it today I about an hour and I finally have a functioning tow/haul mode again. So If anyone out there has a problem with this function look at the wiring coming out of the shifter. I attached pictures of the damaged wiring and of the parts box so poeple can get the part number

 

Dude i have the same problem don't have tow haul unless i place shifter to 1 gear then have to cut off motor and put in park to get it off i just don't us it anymore . So you bought new shifter and put it in.
