If your putting it on an engine stand use the one rated for 2,000 lbs. I had a 1,000 lb. stand fail on me with my 428 cj. Dam near got my arm and cost me about 500 bucks in damaged parts.
if you need to get a hoist get the 2 ton puller , the 1 ton don't reach .
i hear you can pull the engine and trans as a unit , i pulled my fe alone, weight alone on the fe is more than most small blocks plus trans .
