Engine takes a long time to start

We have a diesel F350. When we start the engine it takes longer than normal to start.

What year and which PSD (7.3, 6.0, 6.4, 6.7)?

Also, what's a long time?

2006 F350 XLT. 6.0L. for a couple of weeks it has been slow to start. some where around 10 seconds it will finally start. some times after trying to start, it will start fine and some times it will barley rollover and start

thanks for the help. i'm going to get the batteries checked today. i for got to mention that i put an edge module in a few years ago. it has always showed low voltage to the FICM. i have had the FICM replaced a couple of years ago.

Good input by 2006PS. Is there a difference in start time between hot and cold engine or is it pretty consistent regardless of engine temp?
