I had my truck fail to start (VERY UNUSUAL) and finally figured out that the ignition switch was not staying in the RUN position after START, but falling back to OFF so I changed the ignition switch. Truck now starts and runs like it should BUT the key buzzer is always on except when I unbolt the steering column support. So it looks like the buzzer needs a ground return through the steering column bracket.
Is this because I do not have the ignition switch positioned just right? Everything else works as normal. I suppose I need to do a final tweak of the ignition switch position with the column bolted up, but it's hard for my big fat hands to get up in there.
I'm sitting here typing this and looking at the %^&* schematics to try and figure out the electrical circuit for the buzzer and cannot find it. So far no joy.
