One reason I don't post on these forums very often is that there is always a smart *** that chimes in with his useless 2 cents worth. I have owned several diesel, all GM, and NEVER had problems. THis is the first and last FORD. As far as FORDTUF1.....best of luck to you and I seriously hope yoiu never need advise and if you do, I hope I am the one that can give you a smart *** response like you feel the need to post. I guess it makes you look big to yourself...mirror mirror on the wall..............
Well, why don't you just trade it in on another GM. If driving your 2011 ford as compared to the prior trucks you have had does not put a smile on your face then you are missing something. These trucks are better than the GM or Dodge and you can feel the difference when you drive it.
Or, you can choose to lighten up, enjoy a vast amount of knowledge and help from lots of good folks here.
I have 71000 miles on my truck and have not seen the check coolant additive message for a long time. I think at some point it stops reminding you. Maybe they figure it will last to the 100000 mile warranty mark and then there done with it. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time so I changed my coolant in both systems at 50000 miles. Probably overkill but it gives me peace of mind. My dealer actually gave me a free kit to sample the coolant. Why, I am not sure, I think the guy screwed up. I just hope the high pressure fuel pump doesn't puke before 400,000 .
The $200 Fuel filters are no joke. My crappy dealer wanted $220 before taxes to change them out. He said parts $80 and an hour and a half labor...I almost choked when he said that and that he must be joking. I told him to forget it! I called another local dealer and he they wanted $165. Better but still raping people.
I watched Epics fuel filter video and went on-line and ordered the 2 filters for $56 that included shipping charges and will install them myself. An hour and a half labor, good grief! I will be filing a complaint at the dealership.
