Freeze Plug

Ok, so I had a rusted one on the back of my 223 and I finally got it out... so how do I get the new one in? I stuck it in the freezer before I left it this weekend, so I'm hoping when I get back to it the plug will be just a hair smaller and tap right in. It just seems to bounce at the moment.

Aside from putting it in the freezer, are there any other 'tricks' that you guys know?

Dry Ice, and warm the block with a propane torch. But I think all that is overkill. These plugs just tap in, be sure you have the right size plug and have at it.

You are trying to tap it in from the center, right? Don't try to hammer it in using the lip it'll never go. Insted get a scoket thats two sizes smaller then fits inside the plug and use that to drive the plug in. The reason for useing the smaller socket is the lip crushes down and you'll need to remove the scoket after your done.
