Fuel Tank Lining

Has anyone here experienced, or heard of a problem of fuel tank lining deteriorating in 2002-2003 units? Especially the E450's.

The only thing I have heard of here are the chassis cab's that have metal tanks with a lining. The lining can separate. The plastic tanks on trucks and vans are not lined.
