Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer that produces a cover to incorporate a cap/camper shell? I was thinking maybe a chebby suburban cover? Should be close?
Interesting. I'm surprised no one has tried to answer you question so I'll chime in.
California Car Cover makes many custom covers from open wheel and fat fendered hot rods, cab-only covers, to bikini covers (no, not like a Heep).. a bikini cover is like for a convertible with the top down. Anyhoot, that's one that I know of... they'e got a a wide selection of materials from simple dust covers to full-on, weather resistant fabrics. You can even get different colors for the sides and top. That is, if ya wanna spend the coin for something custom-made.
Second, I was thinking of your question and saw an Excursion. Seems to be that it would be easiest and in the end less costly to simply measure your rig and then look up wheel bases, overall length, and overall width of various SUVs and go from there. Visually, an Excursion or a model from the "bail-out brand" should come close dimensionally to whatever ya got.
Things to keep in mind are mirrors and, if pre-fabbed, the antenna hole location.
