How do ya'll? My name's Aaron From Hamshire-Fannett, Texas. I have had a 96 F-350 Stroke for about 3 yrs. I purchased it for 1200 dollars back then cause the tranny was smoked...I mean brown on the inside smoked. I rebuilt it and began hunting down the cause of initial problem. I didn't know much about forums back then. I chased down codes when I had time and money...turns out there were several problems led to the bar-b-que of the slush box.
First noticed the speedo bouncing...found out the hard way the sending unit was in the rearend. changed the sensor=no dice. pulled the diff cover noticed teeth missing off the ring gear bounced around flattening the trigger ring. Finally rebuilt it. then on to the Neutral Safety switch. Fixed a bunch of other crap -----Now I'm dropping the pan to replace the Torque Converter Safety switch.
Anyways I'm fixina get into the fuel leaks around the bowl. I found the Sticky for that...but what other mods should I get into while I'm there. I understand the principles of diesel but am looking for a cheat sheet for acronyms used here quite often...like HPOP for example, and others I might hear here. Also if any of you have any 96 7-3 specific info, maybe links or such I'd darn sure appreciate it.
I you made it this far down my novel my User Name is because I own a 2004 Land Rover Discovery I bought pretty cheap also. Disco for short...It's a serious off road monster even stock but I need something more reliable so I can dog it out. I know I made the right choice as I have owned many Fords: '76 3/4 ton 4x4 with a BB360, a 92 F-150, E-250 351w. Sold all them and switched to diesel.
This is my first diesel so I need help. I don't plan on goin anywhere or selling my monster Ford soo looking forward to getting to know you all.
I'll try to abbreviate any future posts.

Reason: grammer retard
Welcome to the site! Here is a thread with what some things mean. The only mod to do in the fuel bowl area is fuel pressure mod, I'll put a thread up for mods too.
Thank ya'll so much, I'll read everybit of it. Keep it I comin. I am a thorough searcher, but there's so much out there. Ya'll seem less snooty than the Land Rover crowd
.... and usually involves chilled adult beverages, redneck music, or fire (or all of the above).
Sounds like I finally hit the right crowd
So do you keep a jar of Grey Poupon in the glovebox of that Land Rover?....
Ha ha ha...naw but I put it on a trailer and the ford poopedon it. You'd be suprised how much it resembles something ford would make. I think they owned it for awhile, they used to service the warranty on em.
Its got a ZF automatic in it. Somethin else I noticed on some of ya'lls signatures. I thought about swappin the green oval fer a blue one, but couldn't do it.
A rover's like a comatosed relative, you know you shoulda pulled the plug a long time ago but just can't bring yourself to do it.
Disco >> Welcome to FTE, glad to have you. Cruise Control mod. Find a steering wheel cover with the cruise buttons. Pull yours off and unplug the wire, plug the wire in on the new one and snap on. Go under the hood, on the drivers side next to the air filter housing and the brake booster. You will see a harness with two wires in it (it should have a plug). Cut the two wires and tie them together and tape it up. You now have cruise.
